Autologous Fat Grafting (for Breasts) at Duggal Plastic Surgery

Autologous fat grafting, or simply “fat grafting,” refers to using a patient’s own fat from one area of the body to enhance a different area. The fat is obtained using traditional liposuction, then transferred to syringes and injected using specialized techniques into other areas of the body. Fat grafting allows the surgeon to restore natural volume to the face, breast, buttocks or other areas.

Fat grafting to the breasts can be done for purposes of breast reconstruction, or for breast augmentation either alone or in combination with an implant. The fat is often obtained from liposuction to the abdomen, flanks, or thighs depending on the preference and anatomy of the patient.

There have been so many recent advances to improve breast augmentations. From preoperative Vectra 3D imaging giving a woman a true picture of what she will look like after surgery to the new anatomically shaped breast implants, the results we can get after surgery are more beautiful and natural than ever.
