Labiaplasty at Duggal Plastic Surgery
Labiaplasty refers the surgical trimming of labia minora (inner labia) to improve the appearance of the vagina. Some women are born with larger labia minora, and aging, weight loss, or childbearing can also cause the labia minora to become stretched and extend beyond the edge of the labia majora.
Labiaplasty is most commonly performed under general anesthesia or sedation, and is an outpatient procedure. The incisions are placed on the inside of the labia in order to restore a more tailored and discreet appearance to the labia minora.
Cold packs and anti-inflammatory pain medication will be recommended for the first few days following surgery. Light activity can be resumed 1-2 days after surgery but bruising and swelling will take 1-2 weeks to improve.
